Can we kindly request that you don’t contact the office directly about the new concept we will contact you.
Please note we currently have no details on pricing or availability again we will publish details as soon as we have them.
We will continue to build and support the current Exocet alongside this new concept.
In late 2019/2020 Simon Maguire, MD of Maguire Boats asked Kevin Ellway, current designer of the very successful Exocet moth to design a next generation moth with no holds barred.
The result is a very radical conceptual design code named ‘Aerocet’ . As Kevin explains, ‘the shape has been optimised using CFD for least flying aerodynamic drag – this is predicted to lead to some large speed gains, especially upwind’.
The boat has been designed as a complete package from foils to sail. The construction, build and even the rig is novel – this is not just a boat without a foredeck. It is more revolution than evolution.
The prototype is undergoing rigorous testing and analysis.
However, even from 1st flight, we knew it was very fast – a ‘gamechanger’ as test pilot Jason put it.
There is a still a long way to go before we decide whether this concept should go into full production. But we are very excited about the project and will keep you informed.
